There's a New Gang in Town!

Mommy finally got some decent footage, if a bit dizzying, of the recent skill I've mastered . . . riding my tricycle.

After reeking havoc on the street, Sarah and I chill out on the swing.

My 2nd Professional Haircut

Birthday #2 is just around the corner, so the 'Rents took me to get my hair cut. We went to a different kiddie salon this time - Lolli Pop Cuts in Saratoga. I got to sit in a car for this haircut. They had a Thomas the Train DVD playing on the TV, but it wasn't distracting me enough. So, Mommy had to entertain me so I wouldn't worry too much about the sharp scissors near my head. Overall, I handled it pretty well. Mommy made sure they didn't cut it too short. She says the buzz cut I got last time made me look much older than my One Year. She wants me to stay her Baby Boy as long as possible. (Awww, Mom.) Afterwards, I got to choose a lollipop. So many flavors. It was a tough decision. I went with blue raspberry.

Roadtrip to Palmdale

Daddy and I went on a business trip with Mommy to Palmdale, CA. We drove down in a rental car and stayed two nights. We stopped at two rest areas on the way down so I could run around and chase the birds. Monday night we had barbecue ribs at Famous Dave's for dinner. While Mommy had to go to work on Tuesday, Daddy and I hung out at the Antelope Valley Mall and swam in the hotel swimming pool. Tuesday night, Uncle Ken joined us for dinner at Johnny Carino's Italian Restaurant. The next morning after my bath, Mommy wrapped me up in the soft hotel towels. She even put a towel on my head like she wears. We met up with Uncle Ken again for lunch at the local Thai restaurant before hitting the road back north. We only stopped once on the way back after my nap. I got a banana at the truck stop and shared a strawberry sundae with Mommy. I had fun identifying the colors of the semi-trucks we passed and spotting the cows and horses along the way. Mommy says we'll probably be heading back to Palmdale next month.

Following Fashion

My bud Khai started a new fashion trend. I'm trying to ease into it.

Ben & Jacob

After the birthday party, we went to Ben & Jacob's for dinner. Here the three of us are vying for the best seat in the house.

Christopher's 2nd Birthday

My friend Chris had his 2nd birthday party at The Little Gym. We were late on account I was still napping and my mommy thought the party started at 2:30 instead of 2PM. We missed all the gym activities, but we made it in time for food and cupcakes - the most important part. Everybody got their very on big kid sport bottle.

Eating with Chopsticks

I've been practicing with the special pair of chopsticks Daddy got me at Boudin Bakery on Fisherman's Wharf.

Tree Monkey

Daddy helped me climb onto the neighbor's Magnolia tree. I had fun hanging on and shaking the branches.

My Train Table

There was a sale at Toys R Us, so my mommy got me a train table like my bud Khai's.

Best in the West

We took a road trip to Reno, Nevada for the Annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-off with Uncle Bill & Aunt Terry. We stayed at The Summit at the Grand Sierra Resort. The room was quite plushy with a huge shower that I had fun splashing around in; however, the room wasn't as smoke-free as they claimed. Mommy thinks The Summit likely shares the same old HVAC system as the rest of the hotel. Anyway, the hint of smoke didn't agree with me. I woke up in the middle of the night completely miserable and congested. Mommy & Daddy held me in the bathroom with the shower running so the steam could clear my sinuses. Then we turned off the AC and opened the windows the whopping inch we were allowed from the 24th floor. It seemed to do the trick. I woke up in the morning good as new, ready for some barbecue and roasted corn-on-the-cob, fried zucchini & potato chips, fresh squeezed lemonade, and shaved ice. It was a perfectly pleasant day, quite unusual for Reno, mid-70's and sunny.

Enjoying mommy rides in the shade.

Keeping a firm hold on my puppy crown.

Daddy & I find a cool spot under the overpass.

Even cooler, it makes an awesome slide.
