Number 6

Mommy finally got a picture of my upper left lateral incisor. It popped through the gums less than a week ago. Now I've got a lop-sided bite. But not for long, looks like it's right-side mate will be next. I'll be eating steak in no time. Speaking of eating, Mommy has been giving me all sorts of table food. The food off her plate just taste better. So far, I think I like lasagna best.

Shopping at Old Navy

Mommy dragged Daddy and me to Old Navy to buy me some onesies, T-shirts, and a hat. While Mommy shopped, Daddy let me wander around. This crawling business can really come in handy.

Yes, Waiter???

Daddy and I got caught off guard by the waiter at the Macaroni Grill. We were busy drawing on the table. The waiter brought us some yummy foccacia bread. Later, Mommy let me eat some of her fettucine.

Tooth #5

My lower right lateral incisor just popped through my gums (Tooth #6, my upper left lateral incisor, is soon to follow suit). Mommy took a gazillion pics of my mouth just to get this shot. I kept wanting to climb on her to get to the camera.

Block Party

Our neighborhood had their 2nd annual block party. I was still in mommy's tummy during the first block party. Mommy decked out my stroller with balloons, pinwheels, and Mardi Gras beads for the Children's Block Party Parade. This year we had a live all girl band play. Two of the girls live on our street. Afterwards, we had the annual barbecue and potluck. There was a ton of food. Mommy let me eat some pasta and watermelon. It was yummy. Later, a fire truck came to the party, and Daddy participated in the water balloon toss. When it got dark, we watched an outdoor movie - Madagascar. Mommy gave bits of popcorn fluff to eat. It was a looong day. I crashed out before the movie was over.

My First Playdate

Mommy joined the 2006 Las Madres Working Moms Playgroup when I was five months old. We went to their spring picnic in April, been on a few walks, met a few of the mommies and babies at Baby Loves Disco, and mommy has gone on a couple mommy outings to the indoor climbing gym. We finally got to attend one of their bi-monthy playdates. This is Chris. He's a month older than me. His mommy hosted the playdate. He was showing me his activity table. I think Mommy is gonna get me one. :-)

Playing in the Pool

While in Michigan, Mommy rented another mini-van so we could take Auntie Jenney & my cousins up to Mackinaw City. We spent three nights there enjoying the pool & indoor waterpark across the street.

I preferred the warm water of the huge hot tub but Daddy was able to entice me into the pool for a little while. After playing in the pool, I was pooped out. I vegged out on Mommy's lap. I didn't care too much for the roar of the waterpark, but Daddy & my older cousins had a lot of fun going down the slides. Daddy even managed to get us wet when he slid down one nearby.

Independence

I pulled myself up for the very first time today at Papa Lum's place. Everyone was very excited.

Mobility & Making a Good Impression

This is a Sophia. She's a year older than me. I successfully crawled for the first time today while visiting her and her parents. I had to do something to impress such a sophisticated older woman. Mommy finally caught my crawling action on video a week later on 6/11.

My First Plane Trip - Michigan Bound

I slept through most of my first airplane ride. Mommy & Daddy woke me up way too early. After all the excitement at the airport - checking in, security, preboarding - I crashed out soon after we got settled into our seats. I slept like a baby, missing take-off and most of our flight. I was my typical happy self when I finally did wake up an hour before landing. I enjoyed flirting with the flight attendants & other passengers and looking out the window.

We flew non-stop to Chicago Midway and rented a mini van to drive the rest of the way to Michigan to avoid dealing with a lengthy layover and another flight. We'd need some wheels anyway. To burn off some energy, Daddy let me drive. Well, sort of, we weren't really moving, we were parked at a rest area. A kid can pretend, though. We drove all the way to Ann Arbor and stayed with Sophia & her parents for a couple days.
