Playing in the Pool

While in Michigan, Mommy rented another mini-van so we could take Auntie Jenney & my cousins up to Mackinaw City. We spent three nights there enjoying the pool & indoor waterpark across the street.









I preferred the warm water of the huge hot tub but Daddy was able to entice me into the pool for a little while. After playing in the pool, I was pooped out. I vegged out on Mommy's lap. I didn't care too much for the roar of the waterpark, but Daddy & my older cousins had a lot of fun going down the slides. Daddy even managed to get us wet when he slid down one nearby.

Independence

I pulled myself up for the very first time today at Papa Lum's place. Everyone was very excited.

Mobility & Making a Good Impression

This is a Sophia. She's a year older than me. I successfully crawled for the first time today while visiting her and her parents. I had to do something to impress such a sophisticated older woman. Mommy finally caught my crawling action on video a week later on 6/11.

My First Plane Trip - Michigan Bound

I slept through most of my first airplane ride. Mommy & Daddy woke me up way too early. After all the excitement at the airport - checking in, security, preboarding - I crashed out soon after we got settled into our seats. I slept like a baby, missing take-off and most of our flight. I was my typical happy self when I finally did wake up an hour before landing. I enjoyed flirting with the flight attendants & other passengers and looking out the window.

We flew non-stop to Chicago Midway and rented a mini van to drive the rest of the way to Michigan to avoid dealing with a lengthy layover and another flight. We'd need some wheels anyway. To burn off some energy, Daddy let me drive. Well, sort of, we weren't really moving, we were parked at a rest area. A kid can pretend, though. We drove all the way to Ann Arbor and stayed with Sophia & her parents for a couple days.

Happy Hollow Zoo

We went to the San Jose zoo with Papa Lum. I got to see a pot bellied pig and ride on the carousel. It was a little scary, but Daddy was there to catch me.

Table Food

I got to try my first taste of table food. We went to Buca di Beppo's for dinner. Daddy gave me a slice of apple from his salad. At first it was a little tart, but the flavor grew on me and I nibbled on a few slices before the meal was over.

A week later, we went to a barbecue at "Auntie" Sharon's. I got to sink my teeth into some real Big People food - Corn on the Cob. It was sweet & yummy!!!

So, I'm a paper junkie. I like to eat paper. Mommy feeds my habit by letting me check the mail with her everyday when we get home from daycare.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Today is a very special day for Mommy. It's her very first Mother's Day. Daddy & I picked out this card for her to tell her how much we love her and appreciate all the things she does for us.


Then we took her to the Outback Steakhouse for a Bloomin' Onion & Prime Rib. Can't wait till I have more teeth so I can sink them into a juicy steak. I just know I'm gonna be a meat'n'potatoes man.

First Shopping Cart Adventure

We took a family outing to the local Lowe's. Daddy says I'll become quite familiar with this store. Anyway, I got to ride in the shopping cart for the first time. I'm a Big Boy now! It was fun being able to see everything.

With four teeth, I can really practice my Mike Tyson moves. Daddy gave me easy access to his ears by putting me on his shoulders. I just couldn't resist. :-)

My top two teeth broke through at the same time. WHAT A RELIEF!!! Now I can bite down real good.

Sea Ranch Weekend

We went up the coast to Sea Ranch for some R&R. I'd been there before when I was just a wee baby, when all I did was eat and sleep. This time I had a lot more fun. The 'Rents brought my pack-n-play for me to sleep in for the first time along with some of my favorite toys. I got to see lots of wild life right from our house. These wild turkeys woke us up the first morning with all their gobbling. They're pretty funny looking. They kept circling the house. Later, I got to see some deer eating grass in our yard. There were also lots of birds flying in and out of the trees in front of the big picture window. We could even see ocean from that window. Eventhough we brought along my portable booster chair, I got to sit in a high chair for the first time when we went out to eat. I had fun banging stuff on the table. Afterwards, Mommy bought me my first finger food snacks - biscuits and veggie puffs. The biscuits were quite tasty, but they make a huge mess. Daddy let me eat half of one in the car while he changed my diaper, but he took it away as soon as he was done. When we got to the house, Mommy let me have a veggie puff. For being veggie flavored, they weren't too bad. Must be the artificial cheese flavor. Overall, it was a pretty jam packed weekend, not much rest for Mommy & Daddy. We ate out a couple times, visited the Point Arena Lighthouse, watched "Happy Feet" and "Walk the Line", and just chilled out. The BIG HIGHLIGHT was that I finally figured out how to get my tummy off the ground and get up on my hands & knees. Once I did that, I figured out how to rock to & fro. I was a rockin' machine. Food Update Part Deux - Bananas

Mommy fed me bananas for breakfast. They were yummy. They might even be better than rice cereal. I couldn't get enough. Finished the whole container in record time. I was gonna scream for more, but Mommy gave me a bottle so I was content. She says she'll give me more tomorrow. :-)
